De Zavelput is an old sand quarry which is now managed as a nature area. After the development the quarry filled with water and a rich ecosystem originated. The site has a surface area of 5.2 hectares, of which the river covers about two hectares. It is a great place to go for a walk and to observe birds from the hide.
Located nearby is Goed te Beaulieu, a historical farm dating back to the Frankish Era. Behind the farm runs the River Lys, whose banks provide for some beautiful walks.
