Island 'De Balokken'Print

The straightening of a bend in the River Lys in 1990 resulted in the formation of a 36-hectare island in between two of the river's arms. It was laid out as a varied landscape park with walking paths, a wooden bridge path through a swamp, sitting areas, sloping surfaces and stairs. The perfect spot for walking, jogging or simply having a drink at the cafeteria’s pavement café. You can spend the night in one of the two hiker huts or in the camper area.
