Nieuwpoort is a truly historic town, with an extraordinarily rich history that one would not expect from a seaside town. Nieuwpoort underwent a genuine metamorphosis during the past decades and developed into one of the trendiest resorts on the Flemish coast.
Nieuwpoort also has one of the largest marinas of Northern Europe. More than 2000 (leisure) boats present an impressive spectacle of masts, sails and banners. Get to know the harbour of Nieuwpoort, which on the one hand is linked with the sea and on the other hand by the river IJzer with the flat Hinterland. Visit also the fish auction, the Ganzepoot locks or take a tour by boat!
